Skye's Story
Skye's Story! - Hey Check out Skye's Journal
Skye, a "Black and Tan, Red Bone, and/or Blue Tick hound mix. Ya know what? Skye is all hound dog!
Born March 5th, 2022, or there about. Skye spent a good portion of her puppy hood living with a wonderful caring young family.
Her human companion was so lucky, and very blessed in meeting Skye. Future plans for Skye and her current human were just beginning. Her current human is so thankful to them . We shall never forget - Thank You🙏!
In late 2022, Skye at about 8 months old or so was adopted by her human. Skye's human, from the get go, knew Skye was something so very special . Skye was really calm, caring, loving, and well just a laidback and a easy going pup! Did we mention Skye is just SOOO darn Adorable!
Skye brought "Calm" and "Tranquility" to her human. You see, her human has served his country and community for decades and like many who have served or still serving things can be pretty emotionally challenging...
Skye has been there for him as he's cries, when he's anxious, or just needs someone to talk to or laugh with!
After spending some quality initial training time with Skye, it became very apparent to her human Skye had something to more offer to other humans and in no time Skye became a wonderful social companion too!
Skye showed her human she could help other humans when they needed calm, in crisis, or even offer emotional intervention? Her human, a veteran, a police officer, and a firefighter thought how could Skye help others? Skye is such a social butterfly!
Skye goes to work with her human on a part time basis and is always training in community relations, social emotional support, obedience, striving to become certified as a human therapy K9(Canine - Dog).
Intervention? - Hmmm? How does Skye provide Intervention?
Skye (Dogs) provides numerous physical benefits for her human, she encourages her human to exercise, reducing stress for her human, lowering blood pressure, and potentially improving cardiovascular health.
- Skye can Reduce Stress and Lower Blood Pressure:
Studies show that interacting with dogs, even petting them, can lower cortisol levels (a stress hormone) and blood pressure. Wow! - How does Skye Improve Cardiovascular Health:
Regular exercise from walking or playing with a dog (K9) can contribute to lowering cholesterol, triglycerides, and our blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease. Who would have thought? - Social Interaction:
Dogs (K9s) can help people become more social, as they encourage our interaction with others while walking, dog parks, schools, or other social or public areas and/or events. - Aiding disabled or people in need :
Dogs (K9s) can be trained to perform specific tasks...Of Course! Like retrieving items or alerting their humans to medical emergencies. Isn't this just so AWESOME! Providing (K9) emotional support...Just one look in her eyes brings a calm only a K9 like Skye can provide! Skye lives and loves to be there for all humans!
Training - Community Emotional Therapy and Intervention
Skye and her human are partaking in training to be a ambassadors for community relations, community emotional support, and crisis intervention with a goal of Skye becoming a therapy dog for humans in her community and the responder teams she has become a welcome member of.
